It’s completely normal to feel nervous before a boudoir session. Boudoir photography is an intimate and vulnerable experience, and it’s natural to feel a bit anxious or self-conscious about it. However, it’s important to remember that boudoir photography is meant to celebrate your beauty and confidence, and that your photographer is there to support and guide you every step of the way. I find that understanding the process from start to finish eases nerves and gets you feeling pumped for your session! Here are 5 things that are included in your boudoir session:
Every client of mine gets a full get ready guide from me weeks before the session with a ton of reminders to do a week before, day before, and morning of your session. It talks about the do’s and don’ts as well! For example, it reminds you to shave before your session (or don’t) and so much more! It also answers questions about self tanner spray tans!
I also have a complete shopping guide of where to buy lingerie and what to look for in outfits. I take out all the guesswork!
Professional hair and makeup is always included to help you feel your best. My makeup artist, Liv Morales, works with you to go as glam or as natural as you like! She knows how to work with all skin types, all skin colors, and all types of allergies. We never want to hide what makes you unique, we only like to enhance your natural features.
Getting your hair and makeup done prior to the boudoir session is also an amazing opportunity for us to get to know each other and just hang out! It always feels amazing getting pampered!
Included with all my sessions is access to my HUGE lingerie closet! I carry sizes XS to 4XL. Click Here to see what I carry on hand! I purchase outfits from a lot of different shops including Playful Promises, Victoria Secret, Tutti Rouge, Lounge Underwear, Amazon, and more! Every outfit is washed between each use. Some clients come in with all outfits of their own and some come with the intent to only pick from the closet. It’s totally up to you!
Contrary to popular belief, you do not need to know a thing about posing to book a boudoir session! As long as you can follow some simple directions, we are good to go! I tell you exactly what to do with your face, mouth, hands, and toes! You just have to show up, and I’ll do the rest!
Overall, boudoir photography can be an empowering and transformative experience that helps build confidence in a variety of ways. By seeing yourself through the eyes of a professional photographer, you can start to appreciate your best features and feel more confident in your appearance. Boudoir photography is also an opportunity to express yourself in a creative way. It is hard to put into words how a session can be life changing, you just have to experience it for yourself!
